Day 4 — 5 Private charter flight to Tanzania.
Ngorongoro Crater This morning we fly to the Ngorongoro Crater via Jomo Kenyatta or Migori. Ngorongoro Crater—the eighth wonder of the natural world. Along the way we drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area — a region created to accommodate the grazing needs of the Maasai people and a unique test of the idea that
humans leading a pastoral lifestyle can coexist with wildlife. We descend 2,000 feet into the giant caldera of this extinct volcano. This magnificent natural amphithe- atre contains the largest concentration of animals in all of Africa. Prides of lion, black rhino and elephant share this land with the legendary Maasai tribesmen. Because the grasses are short, game is easily spotted and can be approached quite closely.
We spend a splendid day on the floor of the crater observing wildlife in this ageless World Heritage Site. Overnights stay at:-

Day 6 — 8 Transfer to the Legendary Serengeti.
A short, scenic flight will take you to the Western Serengeti, at Grumet area. We find ourselves deep in the heart of the savannah on the famous migration corridor. With its wide-open spaces, bright blue skies, and creature- filled landscape, over the next
three days we will discover why the fabled Serengeti typifies everyone’s dream of “Old Africa.” Morning and afternoon game runs are planned. Weathered domes of granite and gneiss are a favorite retreat of the big cats, a place to rest and to watch the surround- ing vegetation for both danger and for prey. Giraffe browses in small groups among the trees. Bohor reed- buck and waterbuck restrict their travels
to the vegeta- tion near the rivers and streams. Great numbers of ostrich, Grant’s gazelle, topi, hartebeest, impala, and African water buffalo abound. Lion, chee‐ tah, wild dog and hyena! Leopards are seen resting in the trees. No matter what your expectations, you will not fail to be astounded by life in the Serengeti.
And our accommodation is outstanding. The graceful property offers the ultimate in comfort and style. It’s an exclusive and romantic, remote yet luxu- rious — soaring architectural adaptations of indigenous villages, utilizing natural materials and decorated with art, artifacts, batiks, paintings, and woodcarvings.

Day 10 — 12 Private charter flight to Zanzibar Island
Each morning begins with a sumptuous breakfast as you gaze over the Indian Ocean to the endless horizon. A walking tour is the only way to truly experience the town, which exists today much as it did in the years when Zanzibar, the Isle of Spices, was a great trading centre known the world over for spices, timber and slaves. The marketplace is alive with vendors who hawk their exotic wares in a multitude of languages, as many as the intense palate of colours which mark their fabrics, their spices, their intricately carved wood and other goods for sale. As you move away from the rau- cous market, the winding streets grow serene and mysteri- ous, with their whitewashed houses and

Day 13 Zanzibar | Fly back home.
Today brings a farewell to the island. Depending upon your flight time, which—being in a splendidly far flung outpost of civilization after all—can sometimes be early, perhaps you’ll make one last trip to the marketplace for that fantasti- cally carved teakwood chest or supply of intensely scented clove pomanders —a heady reminder of your sojourn in this ageless Swahili paradise.
